Mastiffs are a type of Mastiff, a large breed of dog that includes several breeds such as the Bull Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff and Tibetan Mastiff. Mastiffs are known for their large size and gentle demeanor. Mastiffs have been used to guard people and property for centuries.[1] For example, it is believed that they have been around since ancient Rome, where they were used in combat. Mastiffs are also popular pets, and are becoming increasingly popular as service dogs.

Did you know? The Mastiff originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, which is why Mastiffs have a thick coat regardless of their geographic location.

Mastiffs were originally bred to hunt wild boar, but they have since become popular as family pets and work dogs. Mastiffs can be either brown, black or white in color. Mastiffs are very loyal to their families and make excellent guard dogs.
